During the Flemish Karate Federation (VKF) meeting on 17 March the Board of
Governors decided to admit Telly in the sport technical commission of the VKF.
The sport technical commission has different duties and responsibilities
including:
The members of the sport technical commission are elected, taking into account several criteria. They must have a higher Dan degree, is also taken into account that the members of the commission come from several schools or style groups. Persons who already have made contributions to the good functioning of the federation, persons who form the link between the administration and the sport technical control or persons who have contributed to the promotion and irradiation of our sport, enjoy the preference to be established in this commission. This commission has an active functioning within our federation.
This commission also discusses all sport technical aspects of karate, the paired going questions and problems in the Flemish karate federation.
The sport technical commission exists from minimum 5 members and maximum 8. At present the following persons are established commission members:

Kusano ha Belgium is certain of the fact that Telly will be an enormous acquisition for the V.K.F. in general and for the Shito Ryu style in particular.
On 28 June 2005 the VKF (Flemish Karate Federation) decided to
include Van Den Nest Kiliaan,
Gautier Vito, Van Belle Ilse and
Lekens Mike in the Shobu-elite group - promising athletes category C for the
discipline Kata. A promising athlete category C is obligated to participate at
training sessions and courses organised by the sport commission multi style. Category C-athletes is
a group used to spot potential talent in an early stage within the Flemish
Karate Federation. You are enlisted in this group for a period of 6 months and
within these 6 months you have to prove yourself as a potential talent.
Also De Poorter Kristof was spotted during the latest competitions and on the
regional kumite trainings in Berchem. He was included in the Shobu-elite group -
promising athletes category C for the discipline kumite on 03/12/2005.

The seventh karate championships for the continent Asia was held on 21 and 22
May 2005 in Macau (China). Emiko Honma (student of Kusano ha Shito Ryu) received
the 3rd place in the category Kumite Woman's over 60 kg. She was also part of
the Japanese woman's Kumite team were they acheived the first place.
Japan proved their supremacy once more. If you look at the overall results you
will see that they received 20 gold medals during this championship, leaving the
second best country far behind with 9 gold medals. Below you see the top five:

Takashi "Teppei" Kozuka received the first place during the 48th Rengokai
West Japan Championships in the category Kata and the third place in the category kumite. Kenichi Honma,
the brother of Emiko (see above), received the first
place in the category kumite.
Teppei is the main assistant of Nidaime Soke Sensei Masaru Kusano during his
visits to Europe. He is also part of Sohonbu staff and secretary for all Kenshikan
dojo's overseas.
If you want to meet him... he will accompany Nidaime Soke Sensei Masaru Kusano
during the W.K.K.A. Gasshuku in Belgium on 19, 20 and 21 May 2006.
Karate was, together with squash, golf, roller sports and rugby, part of an
election to decide which sport would be included in the Olympic games of 2012.
Eventually only Karate en Squash were the only two left in the election, but
neither one of them managed to receive a 2/3 majority that is necessary to
become part of the 26 sports that the Olympic games are now made of.
